A team of researchers from the UPV/EHU will coordinate the creation of the first brain bank with mental illness. Javier Meana, professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, is the coordinator of the brain bank project.
The bank to create will store the brains provided by patients with depression, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Researchers will have in common the patient's clinical data and brain tissues. Consequently, research possibilities will increase.
