Biodiversity regulates the chemical balance of the atmosphere

The result of fieldwork done by scientists at the Brookhaven National Laboratory of the U.S. Energy Division indicates that the greater the diversity of plant species, the easier it is to absorb excess carbon dioxide and nitrogen.

As is known, nature uses various mechanisms to balance the concentration of certain substances present in the atmosphere. For example, when the CO2 concentration is too high, plants absorb more gas and grow faster, decreasing the CO2 concentration and producing more oxygen.
