BerbaTek presented the results of the project today. For three years, the VICOMTECH-IK4 Technology Center, the TECNALIA Research and Innovation Foundation, the Aholab and IXA groups of the UPV/EHU and the Elhuyar Foundation have worked in the research and development of linguistic technologies, valuing applications of practical use in the field of linguistic industries. In addition to the research work carried out, they have developed three demos: a semantic multimedia search engine for science and technology, a demo for automatic duplication of documentaries and a personal tutor for language teaching.
Igor Leturia, responsible for the R&D unit of the Elhuyar Foundation and coordinator of the BerbaTek project, presents in this video one of three demos, the automatic dubbing of documentaries:
“We are very satisfied and proud of the results obtained. But if we do not want the Basque language to be left behind in linguistic technologies, we still have to work hard in the coming years”, explains Leturia in his article on BerbaTek in the magazine Elhuyar Zientzia eta Teknologia. In it he explains the three demos developed by Leturia in the project. You can also find more information on the web www.berbatek.com that they have created for the dissemination of the project.
