In Tanzania there has been a Cakhineta that has disappeared for 70 years. The Gambian catajineta Lowe, found and identified by the English naturalist Willoughby Lowe, was last seen in 1932. Since then it has not been known until this year.
Through a trap that activates a photo camera they have managed to take a photo of the small carnivorous animal, which has allowed to verify that there are still some specimens of the species. There is not much information about this animal, scientists only know that it is nocturnal and a climbing tree, and there is no ecological, distribution or abundance data.
