Arctic fossil monsters
On an Arctic island, Norwegian scientists discover a buried treasure: fossils of gigantic predators living under water 150 million years ago. Among the bones obtained were the whole bones of several animals.
As they have explained, the medium has made it possible to find in good state both fossil. In fact, after his death, the corpses were introduced in the sludge of the bottom of the sea, almost without oxygen in their environment, chemical conditions that were very suitable for the storage of the bones.
The bones found correspond to groups of ichthyosaurs and plesiosaurs. The ichthyosaurs resembled the present dolphins, while the plesiosaurs were like sea turtles that have lengthened the neck and have no shell.
So far the bones of 6 ichthyosaurs and 22 plesiosaurs have been found. In this way, it is intended to continue excavating in this area to extract more fossils of this type.
