Research with transgenic mice awakens hope. These mice are designed to create amyloid plaques in the brain as humans and develop dementia as in humans. The vaccine tested in these mice has eliminated these plaques and the symptoms of dementia. Specifically, mice create antibodies against the peptides of amyloid plaques by vaccine, which prevent the formation of amyloid plaques. Dementia is explained by the formation of amyloid plaques in the brain.
They have now started testing the vaccine in humans and have shown that it is capable of producing antibodies, but have to do with side effects or not. In fact, they had to reject another vaccine that seemed effective because the side effects it produced were unacceptable.
