The glaciers of the Ruwenzori mountains between Uganda and Congo will not last more than twenty years. This is the main conclusion of the research that has been carried out choosing one of the glaciers, Elena. They combine satellite data, images and historical climate data. And the results are dramatic: Between 1997 and 2003 the glacier has halved and the temperature has risen 0.5 degrees per decade. If the weather follows the same path, there will soon be no glaciers in Africa.
