In the October issue we talked about the new Windows Millenium Edition. Well, as just opened, this new Windows is an excellent help for viruses thanks to the application called System Restore. If this application is active a virus contaminates a system file, the file will be stored in a directory called "restore/temp". Therefore, antivirus will not be able to clean these files. However, if the user gets to delete the virus, Windows will realize that these files have been modified since the last time they were used and will recover the copy that has saved, so the virus will be reactivated. In these cases, the only option left to disinfect is to start a floppy disk and then delete everything in the "restore" folder.
