Biotechnology experts have made a new discovery in the field of genetic manipulation. They say they have managed to remove the foreign gene from the food produced by transgenic plants. The aim of the researchers is for foreign genes scattered in the plant to only appear where the other places are needed and to be clean. In this way, we would take advantage of the advantages of GMOs and also consume food without its consequences.
To do this, a new recombinant gene must be introduced to the plant cell to release it from the junction zones of the foreign gene at the time of the signal. Success has still been achieved with a single plant, that is, completely cut the foreign gene. It is to be seen if it will succeed with other transgenic plants.
