What you have in the images are the pumps that will be installed in the largest pumping station in the world. The station, called Ameria, is being built in Alkairo, capital of Egypo. It will have to treat the black waters of a city of fourteen million inhabitants, which in the year 2000 will be 16,5 million. This work was essential if we take into account that the current system was designed to treat the sewer waters of a million inhabitants.
Each pump will have a power of 8 MW and will have to treat 29,000 l/s of water. Each pump will have a transmission shaft of 21 meters. A total of eight of them will be installed at the station.
