A team of researchers from the Ikerlan-IK4 technology center has developed a photovoltaic panel. Plastic materials have been used for the manufacture of the panel, which has allowed them to be very variable in appearance and design. The research is still at the laboratory level and the developed module has 30 square millimeters.
Researchers believe that in the future they will open up new opportunities to use solar energy to solve the problems of integration and accessibility of current technology. The panels are thin plastic sheets, which can be placed almost on any surface, whether rigid or flexible. In this way, they can build semi-transparent windows or photovoltaic curtains that, in addition to allowing the entrance of light in part, transform it into electricity.
