Plastic rat for medical students

The rat, recently developed by a Dutch pharmaceutical company, is made of a special life-size PVC.

If the project thrives, surgery students will have the opportunity to perform about 25 interventions, from simple sewing to heart or liver transplantation, without the death of a mouse. The project, developed by the pharmaceutical company Solvay, is funded by a platform of pharmaceutical companies, public authorities and animal defense groups.
