The global air temperature on the surface of October 2024 was an average of 1.65 ºC above the pre-industrialization temperature, with month 15, within 16 months, when the average global air temperature on the surface was greater than 1.5 ºC compared to that before industrialization. Indeed, this limitation was laid down in the Paris Convention, foreseeing that if the planet were overcome it could suffer irreversible effects.
Copernicus, the European Union Service for Climate Change, has reported that 2024 is almost safe. In order for this not to happen, the average temperature anomaly until the end of the year should fall almost to zero.
