Most ascites are rubber drops that live at the bottom of the sea. Researchers at the University of Montreal have studied their genome and concluded that they are the closest relatives to vertebrates compared to the most cordated.

Research has questioned what experts believed so far. Therefore, it is necessary to review some morphological and paleontological data.
