The spectacular building we have in the image next door is a central one to take advantage of the energy of newly built waves in Bergen, Norway. This plant is the result of ten years of research. However, its operating system is simple.
The waves that explode in the bases of the tower compress the air and expel it abruptly towards the interior of the tower. Inside the tower there is a special turbine called "Plantor", in which the air is opened. The turbine is connected to an electricity generator. It is estimated that this wave power plant will produce 1.8 gw.h annually.
In Norway it is believed that in ten years the energy of the waves will be competitive in price.
