Seven sterile women aged 40 to 44 are pregnant in California.
These seven sterile women, due to lack of ovaries, have been placed oocytes extracted to three women under 35, who have been transplanted after fertilisation in tests. Both females and oocyte receptors have received a hormonal treatment that has led to the pregnancy of the seven mentioned women (one of them with twins).
The technique used is no longer revolutionary, but it has shown that the uterus of older women also has a capacity for pregnancy.
