Reproduction of prematurity

According to the study carried out by INSERM, premature births have proliferated in France in recent years.

A survey in France has generated great concern. According to the study carried out by INSERM, premature births have proliferated in France in recent years. In 1971-74 the percentage of premature births was 6.1%. This went down and by 1982 it stabilized around 4%. But since then it has been growing to 4.8% by 1985. In addition, the trend is ascending and in some places they reach 7.7%.

The increase in preterm births may be due to a lower medical follow-up of pregnant women, especially during the first six months.

The problem is worrying, as apart from a higher risk for the health of the newborn, the mortality rate of children can increase.
