In science fiction it is not uncommon to invisibilize something with a special cover. Now physicists at Philadelphia University have proposed how to make fiction a reality.
With the covers tested so far, the object looked like the background. Thanks to it it was possible not to notice, to hide. For example, a North Carolina researcher invented a system that detected and emitted light. The system projected the background on the object it wanted to hide and thus made it invisible.
But those in Philadelphia do not propose it, but a cover or shield. This transforms the object into invisible from all angles. The key is to avoid the light that reflects the object. If an object does not absorb or reflect light, it is not visible. Therefore, researchers have proposed using a plasma cover.
Plasmons are electronic waves that move rhythmically on the surface of metals. Surrounding an object with plasma becomes invisible because the cover does not allow the leakage of light. In any case, the cover is not magical, it is not valid for any object, but a suitable wavelength plasma cover must be created for each material.
