Cannot stay long in the South Atlantic

On the ground there is an area where astronauts cannot stay long. Located in the South Atlantic, the Earth's magnetic field receives five to six times more cosmic rays than normal. This conclusion is derived from data sent by the Soviet space station Mir.

These measurements have been performed in the French Russian trial called NAUSICAA. The radiation meter has been developed jointly by the French Institute for Nuclear Safety and Protection. In the image are represented the measurements made by the counter, where the tips are appreciated.

One of the objectives of these tests is to know the cosmic rays of the space surrounding the Earth and the interplanetary space, in order to protect the radiation in the spaces.

We know that the Earth's magnetic field captures charged particles that form rings around the Earth. Its density and altitude are a function of magnetic force and particle load.

Therefore, it seems that the main cause or responsible for this anomaly is in the magnetic field itself, but the phenomenon is not yet fully known.
