Since 1970 in Greenland the ice sheet grows every year a quarter of the meter. According to the researchers, this increase is a direct influence of the greenhouse effect.
The oceans are warming more and more. Therefore, more and more water evaporates. As in the poles there is enough cold to snow, more and more water freezes.
More ice means less water. Therefore, each year the thickness of the ice sheet reduces the sea level by 0.3 mm. It will take many years to appreciate the sea level drop, but if the problem detected in Greenland began to develop anywhere in the South or North Pole, alarms would occur around the world.
