Online debate on genetically modified foods

The members of the SCOPE project have put on their website a new topic of debate: genetically modified foods. SCOPE Project (Science Controversies On-line: Partnerships in Education) was launched four years ago by editors of Science magazine in collaboration with the University of California-Berkeley and the University of Washington.

The objective of the portal is to provide a broad and balanced information on the topics covered and that such information, without being too simple or technical, can be understood by anyone. In addition, the portal offers an open space for debate in which all people who wish to participate. The topics discussed so far have been the use of DDT, malaria and the reduction of the amphibian population. For more information, just go to the http://scope.educ.washington.edu portal.
