A new type of transport vehicle will be on sale in Britain later this year. In the picture you can see Trailer Train, the Trailer train.
When on the road, the Trailer train is shaped like any other trailer or articulated truck. It has three rear axles and is capable of carrying 38 tons.
The transfer from the road to the railway line can be carried out on any road with no contiguous exit with flat area. The tractor truck places the trailer in a railway bogie. Meanwhile, the air suspension lifts the wheels until the trailers rest on the bogie. Working the same way, you can join a lot of vehicles forming the train.
The trailer train loses a little volume around the angles of the roof to take the form of train wagons and adapt perfectly to the tunnels and bridges of the railway.
The objective of this vehicle is, on the one hand, the use of the fast speed of the train for long distances and, on the other, the ease of distribution door to door of the truck.
