This project has dealt with "tolerance to defects in flexible cells". This improves and makes the characteristics of autamatisms and flexible cells more reliable. The work has been simultaneous in fields such as sensing, real-time data capture systems, cutting process modeling in numerical control machines, embedded systems in artificial intelligence, local communication networks, automatic driving vehicle systems, etc.
The project has had a budget of 700 million euros, of which Basque companies have received 10%.
But IKERLAN's participation in European projects has not been completed. Two new European projects were launched in January. A so-called fault tolerance in the management and control of production systems and another called Home Systems. On this last topic, Elhuyar. In the next issue of Science and Technology more news will be given.
