Brain maps of the brain

A group of researchers at the University of the State of Florida has used Riemann's mathematical theorem to represent more accurately maps of the structure of the human brain. The images of the brain are obtained by magnetic resonance, but the problem lies in the treatment of the information obtained.

The previous techniques show section cuts of the cerebral cortex, which makes it difficult to simultaneously view the entire brain. Meanwhile, Mónica Hurdal's team has used Riemann's theorem, which is already 150 years old, to turn the three-dimensional surface into a plane, but at the same time store information about the angles.
