Mark Gasson is a cyberintelligence researcher at the University of Reading and, recently, is also the first person infected by a computer virus, he has reported.

In fact, Gasson put a radio frequency identification chip under his left skin last year. In fact, RF chips are already used to control products from stores and pets. However, researchers at the University of Reading and other laboratories are more sophisticated than themselves, able to send, store and transform data. Applications include implants for the treatment or follow-up of health problems.

Gasson has spent years researching the interconnection interfaces between computer systems and the nervous system, and the objective of the current experiment has been to analyze the use and problems of this type of implant. For a year thanks to the hand chip, which has had secure access to the university and its mobile phone, and that those who had it have been able to know at all times the location of Gasson.

Now Gasson has taken another step and infected the chip with a virus that has blocked the entire system. According to Gasson, "by infecting my implant with a computer virus, I have shown how far these technologies are advancing and what problems they may have in the future."

In any case, experts believe that researchers will take steps to prevent and avoid the risk of infection by starting to use this type of chips.
