Today we know that brain neurons of adult mammals are regenerated. But do we use these regenerated neurons for something? According to the results of research conducted with rats at Rutger University in New Jersey, new neurons perform important functions.
For example, new neurons in the hippocampus are essential for the part of memory that deals with the coordination of the learned responses and the temporal relationship between the facts. According to scientists, these results will help cure diseases of the nervous system, since they can incorporate fully functional neurons in the affected brains.
