Two recent fossil findings have confused the problem of human origin. On the one hand, the team led by American Tim White has made the discovery of the australopithecus in Etiopian Maka. On the other hand, the team led by Friedemann Schrenk has made a discovery about the genus Homo much further south, near Lake Malawi.
Mr. White has published that the fossils of the Australopithecus aferensisa of Maka, 3.4 million years ago, belong to the species of the famous Lucy. Analyzing the gag and femur it is observed that there are differences between people and between males and females, but it cannot be said that they belong to different species.
The Schrenk team discovers a Homo rudolfensis gag. It is 2.4 million years ago, and to date has not been found in so southern Africa. They say that the discovery of this hominid in that place is due to migration as a result of climate change, but this idea may be because there are still few fossils.
However, the abundance of these hominids complicates the human genealogy of 4 million and a million years ago.
