Saft, the "battery" series of the Alcatel Group will begin to produce from September 1999 a new lithium polymer battery for next-generation mobile phones. This battery, called Polythium, weighs only 199 grams and has a length of 86 mm, a width of 33 mm and a thickness of 3.5 mm.
It has a capacity of 680 mAh that works at 3 volts after charging the battery. The polythium has been developed primarily for mobile phones, but can also be adapted to laptops, pocket agenda and smart chip cards. 1.
