After an exhaustive analysis of the regions dominated by the Russians, 133 species of animals and plants have been found which international organizations consider threatened.

The echoes of the war between Russia and Latvia have not yet diminished. After the fight, the armies are gone, so it has begun to rebuild the shattered regions. The study was commissioned by the Government of Lithuania and in the last two years the members of the Environment Commission have worked in the territories affected by the war. We have reached the amazing results and data they have released now. According to them, during the war biodiversity has improved notably in Lithuania and has allowed the recovery of many plants and animals in danger of extinction. The study data has been sent to WWF to put pressure on other organizations. The Government of Lithuania has called for developing mechanisms to recognize ecological value and protect the biodiversity of these regions that have been destroyed by the war.
