According to a law passed in Germany, packaging recycling will be mandatory. The collection of packaging waste must reach 90% on July 1, 1995.
This law includes all types of packaging, such as sacks, boxes, cartons, plastics, boats, bags, bottles, metal boats, tanks, etc. Recycled or recovered packaging will bring a green dot with a value between 10% and 20% higher.
Faced with this situation the industrialists are thoroughly prepared. Tetra-Park, which manufactures 58 billion containers annually, is developing a reduction, pressing and heating technique at 170°C. The goal is to achieve a solid chipboard. The PKL company has already achieved concrete results. It has managed to separate the packaging waste into three groups: cardboard, polyethylene and aluminum. A recycling process of its own is given to each group.
The success of this system lies in selective collection. It seems that, knowing the German character, this collection will not be difficult to carry out in all homes.
