1995: Year of cyclones

Nothing like this has happened in the last 25 years. Researchers at the University of Colorado have studied the weather data of 1995 and announced that last year was a record year: 11 cyclones, 5 of them extremely violent, 177 km/h. exceeding speed and 19 tropical storms took place from 22 August to 31 November last year.

Before August 11 there were 5 storms and 2 cyclones, unknown early activity since 1966. In short, last year's cyclonic activity was 235% higher than the previous year. What a year!

Although meteorologists do not agree on the origin of all these phenomena, most believe it may be related to the movement of large ocean bodies of water. Although the movement of these bodies of water has been quite stable in the last 25 years, last year it accelerated and caused enormous stormy activity.

In addition, there are other factors that may have to do with the frequency of cyclones. Among them, experts have highlighted the rise in sea temperature on the African coast, although there is no full demonstration. However, experts expect this year to be quieter. If forecasts are met, this year there will only be eight tropical storms.
