New lamp for ultraviolet light

A group of German researchers patented a new lamp to produce ultraviolet light. It is estimated that this discovery will bring with it the development of the semiconductor industry most used in ultraviolet light.

The new system produces UV light with higher power and lower maintenance. Ultraviolet light is found in the invisible part of the electromagnetic spectrum and is responsible for tanning the skin.

The ultraviolet light of this lamp has a wavelength lower than that which exists in nature, so it is often called distant ultraviolet.

Although the primary application of ultraviolet light is the treatment of materials in the semiconductor industry, applications such as telecommunications, computing, hospital material sterilization and ozone generation should not be ruled out.

The research team has already obtained two patents with the lamp: one for the basic technology and the second for the laser application. The key to success is the perfect excitation of the gas molecules needed to produce ultraviolet light.
