Helper of diabetic cyclosporins?

On this occasion hope seems reliable. For the first time in the world, after a large clinical study, a method to treat diabetes has generated apparent results. Cyclosporine, the drug studied, is an immunodepressive molecule used to overcome the oppression that is currently occurring in organ transplants.

The cause of the need for insulin by diabetes has been known for a long time, due to the deterioration of some cells in the area specialized in the manufacture of insulin. Studies carried out in animals have shown that the problem is in the immune system. The immune system considers these cells of the area as foreign and begins their deterioration. From there came the idea of trying cyclosporine.

The group of diabetics treated with cyclosporine has managed to cure 24%. This figure is very high if we take into account that the disease is considered incurable.

Although it is still doubtful, in the first steps of diabetes it seems that cyclosporine can end the disease. Of course, more studies are needed, but hope is there!
