German researchers have obtained stem cells from the testicles of adult mice. These cells have not been obtained by cloning or destruction of embryos. Therefore, the new method will avoid a series of ethical problems that could lead to the creation of cells with therapeutic applications in the future, at least in the case of men.

For the creation of stem cells the transgenic transformation of laboratory mice has been primed. This variant has marked sperm stem cells to differentiate them more easily from other cells. Only 0.3% of the sperm cells in mice are stem cells. Then, isolated stem cells grow in cultures. Depending on the laboratory processes and the organs to which they are incorporated, up to 250 types of cells can be developed. The next objective of the research will be the control of this process.
