Cheap Gold

Some physicists have developed a cheap method to create layers of gold nitride. This technique consists in the emission of a beam of nitrogen atoms against gold crystals, giving rise to gold nitride.

This material can replace pure gold to cover different components of electronic circuits, such as computers and mobile phones.

Nitride has several advantages: it hardens the metal layer and lengthens the service life of the components coated with this material.
