Vaccine from the tobacco plant

Andrea Molina Azcona, agronomist at the Public University of Navarra, has developed a vaccine against canine parvovirus from the tobacco plant. This virus affects puppies. The vaccine is produced by transforming the DNA from the chloroplast of the tobacco plant and is very effective. Of a single plant 500 units of vaccine are formed.
