Carbon dioxide eruptions on Mars

The image shows a network of channels formed by carbon dioxide gas. It has a dimension of 190 x 120 meters. Numerous structures of this type have been found around the south pole of Mars via the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter satellite. Isolated Araneiform Topography is a spider structure that does not touch each other. They occur in spring, when the temperature is heated.

The ice of the Martian poles consists of carbon dioxide. This ice is translucent, that is, sunlight crosses and warms the lower surface. In spring, when the Sun begins to heat more, the carbon dioxide near this surface sublimates, that is, it passes directly from being solid to gas, and the gas is to extract it causes wear this way.
