New colony of northern ibis bald found

The Northern Bald (Geronticus eremita) is an endangered species. This species is the most visited in the Mediterranean countries, although it is sometimes found in the Middle East. In 1989 a Turkish colony disappears and colonies have not been known since.

Now another colony has been found in central Syria, where a total of seven ibis adults live, including three couples caring for their eggs. From now on, the new colony will be supported by two people and egg care data will be collected.
