AIDS in Europe, 1994-98

Research published in The Lancet reveals the fall of AIDS in Europe. Between 1994 and 1998 fewer cases were diagnosed and at the same time the number of patients treated increased. The research has been developed in 17 European countries and provides insight into the influence of combined treatments. The results confirm the previous studies, that is, the reduction of AIDS in Europe. The reduction coincided with the initiation of aggressive treatment against retrovirus. The results of the research therefore coincide with medical trials that have demonstrated the effectiveness of new drugs.
