Gravity is not the same everywhere in the world. This is not new, but according to the new gravity map drawn up by Australian and German researchers, gravity changes 40% more than previously thought around the world.

7 year data from the GRACE satellite, 2 years from the GOCE satellite, data from the US Geospatial Intelligence Agency. and topographic and batimetric data have been used to elaborate the new map. And a supercomputer that has worked for 80 years on a normal computer. Thus they have achieved the most accurate map of gravity so far: it gives a gravity of three billion points, a point of 200 meters. According to this map, the lowest gravity is found on the Andean mount Huascaran and the largest near the North Pole.
